Hairbrush with Tree Branches - Connection of body to Earth
Photos and Video - Connection of body through lover's hairbrush
The photographs of the hairbrush with both coloured hairs made me think of ways in which I could capture them both connected in other forms of experimental work. For example by freezing the hair merged together with water as I don't have any access to resin and photograph the pieces before they melt to use as inspiration for the potions I'll make afterwards, which I'll use to stain and texture my work both digitally and in real life.

Photographs - Connection of body through lover's hairbrush
For this test shoot, I wanted to explore the relationship that hair has within my project.
I asked myself: How can I convey connection between two people through hair, instead of the usual knotting or braiding of the two people's hair so I decided to use the hairbrush with blonde hair stuck on it whilst I brush my own red hair.
I wanted the focus of the video and photographs to be on the hair and hairbrush, so I kept the background and dresser simple.
I'll make some drawings and collages in response to the test shoot where I erase the information I don't need. such as the clothes, wall and even my face.
I used the bench in front of me to have the long hair rest on it, instead of having it simply falling down, in order to create a sense of depth to the video, which I'll look into further with toile making and the actual performance art. This helps to depict the hair in the foreground instead of it going unnoticed.
